To me, the most exciting thing about vintage is stumbling upon a story waiting to be told. I am a treasure hunter, yes, but I’m also a story collector. I enjoy knowing where every piece in the shop comes from; its history and often the family who learned and loved a thing before letting it go. There’s a sense of pride knowing that I have a part in continuing its legacy.
I think what sets Brick + Mortar apart is my approach and intention. When I go to estate sales I enter with an open mind, and not looking necessarily for what will sell, but for what I like — pieces that fit my personal aesthetic and style. From couches to postcards, taxidermy animals to a Persian rug, everything I place in my shop I would absolutely put in my home.
